Art, Hail and Snowflakes

As I am writing this post it is absolutely freezing outside. We even have seen snow flurries throughout the day. My local weatherman stated that nearly half of the country has snow. What happened to the spring!

Since I have been staying inside I have had a chance to work on some new products. I just completed this clock and will put it in my shop within the day.

I also wanted to show you the hail we got last week. It was the strangest storm. It was a little rainy, but all of a sudden it got so dark outside. We immediately turned on the t.v. My kids and I were shocked to see that we were under tornado watches and warnings. My daughter even heard the emergency sirens go off. We were about to go to the basement, but the sirens were turned off. Thankfully we missed the worst.

A Few New Pieces

With Mother's Day just around the corner. I had a painting that I did a few years ago. I decided to revamp it, by adding some type to the image. Then I started thinking of the laundry list, hehe  of things moms do for their family.  Here is what I cam up with.

This is a new art block, I have not listed in my shop yet, but will have it available by tomorrow. In a humorous way I wanted to depict his wisdom.

I am busy at work to finish off some other products. I look forward to sharing with you next time.

Vegan Cheesecake

Jordan is my youngest, and my little foodie buddie. We both love watching Food Network together. Unwrapped is his favorite show. Well, he checked out this book at his school library.

big brother Michael had to get in the picture

He already has aspirations of being a chef. I just have this feeling he will be this world famous chef one day. A couple of years ago he told me he was going to be a cooker when he grows up. So sweet.

I knew before dinner I was going to have to help him make the dessert. He decided to make this cheesecake vegan, so his sister could enjoy the treat. Bethany (his big sister) helped him make the crust while I ran to the grocery store. When I came back we started on the filling. We used Tofutti cream cheese.

We followed the recipe minus the mixing time is a bit less with Tofutti. We baked the mini cups following the recipe.

As you can see the cheescake turned out perfectly! Jordan put the cheeries on top and served it to each of us.

The textured is a little softer with tofu. Our whole family enjoyed our yummy treat after dinner!

My Creative Process

Even though many of use are experiencing really cold temperatures right now. I found a way to escape in my studio, and have a little bit of spring right now.

My doodle turned to a finished sketch that I transfered onto to watercolor paper.

I painted the flowers purple because I like the contrast with a base color underneath my painting.

Here is the finished product. I plan to turn this possibly into a print with some words in the middle.
